No AccessAnyone who has watched kickboxing or MMA will immediately understand the importance of being able to block a round kick. Especially kicks to the legs, as the damage can set in almost immediately - impairing your mobility and it certain cases even ending the fight. The common defense for a round kick is to check the kick. This defense just asks you to pick your knee up and point it to be perpendicular to the incoming kick. While it might be scary to receive a kick on your shins the first few times, realize that the opponent typically takes more damage than the checker. You can also be offensive with the kick check, by pushing down on the check after blocking and firing your own round kick.
