No AccessThe Crane Pass is a powerful way of breaking up the half guard and quickly stepping out to pass. I learned this from the source at New Wave BJJ, where Jon Danaher was teaching this technique. It was actually Gordon Ryan who came up with it, and I got to experience it first hand when I rolled with him and he caught me with it. That left a strong impression on me, and I have been working it ever since. It is a marvelous pass, and I have had a great amount of success utilizing it. Virtually no risk, but very high reward. But, I'm never satisfied for my pursuit of finding more success. So I started to play around with idea of mixing in a Kimura with the Crane Pass. The result is what you see here, which I'm calling the K-Crane Pass. With the help of my friend Alvin Yeh, we came up with quite a few ways to utilize the K-Crane to pass the guard in multiple ways. This is still in the experimental phase, but I have high hopes for this one.
