In our Smashed Back Take I covered previously, we had to open our half guard to be able to make the hook on their far leg. This means that our guard is open and it gives the potential for our opponent to look for the mount. This is the beauty of this technique - the mount trap!
If our opponent thinks they can mount, they are actually going to give us the back mount instead.
